Off Key — Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 20, 2026 · Published by Appsinfoway
Off Key is a game you control with your voice. We built it to collect as little as possible: no accounts, no advertising, no tracking across other apps or websites, and your voice never leaves your device. We use anonymous usage analytics to understand how the game is played (see below).
Microphone
- When you choose “Play by singing”, the game uses your microphone to measure the pitch and loudness of your voice. This happens entirely on your device, in real time.
- Audio is never uploaded, stored on a server, or sent to us or any third party.
- You can deny microphone access and play in tap mode instead.
Gameplay clips
- During a run the game keeps a short video clip of the last few seconds, including microphone audio, in your device’s memory.
- The clip only leaves the app if you tap “Post my clip” and choose where to share it (for example TikTok, Instagram, or Messages). Those services’ own privacy policies then apply.
- Unshared clips are discarded; a temporary copy may remain in the app’s cache until the system clears it.
Anonymous usage analytics
- We use Google Analytics 4 to count players and understand gameplay, for example how many games are started, scores at the end of a run, and whether the share buttons are used.
- The game generates a random identifier when it is first opened so returning players are counted once. It is not linked to your name, email, contacts, advertising ID, or any account.
- Google may infer an approximate location (country/city) from your connection. Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses for this property.
- Google signals and ad personalization are turned off. Analytics data is never used for advertising or sold, and is not used to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
- Your voice, audio, and video clips are never sent to analytics.
- To have your analytics data deleted, email us; uninstalling the app or clearing site data also resets the random identifier.
Delete your Off Key data
Off Key has no accounts, so there is nothing to sign in to. To delete your data:
- On your device: uninstall Off Key (or clear the browser’s site data for offkey.appsinfoway.com). This deletes your scores, voice range, and the random analytics identifier.
- Analytics data held by Google Analytics: email [email protected] with the subject “Off Key data deletion”. We delete matching analytics data within 30 days.
What is deleted: gameplay analytics events linked to your random identifier. What is kept: only aggregated, anonymous totals (for example, the number of games played per day). Event-level analytics data is automatically deleted after 2 months in any case.
Data stored on your device
Your best score, daily score, voice range (lowest/highest note), and last play mode are saved locally on your device so the game remembers them. Deleting the app removes them.
Challenge links
A challenge link contains only a score and a level number (for example ?beat=23&seed=12345). It contains no personal information.
Children
Off Key does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
